Ar ôl ennill 2 gêm grŵp allan o 4, ymlaen â’r bechgyn i gystadlu am y plât. Collwyd yn erbyn enillwyr cystadleuaeth y plât, Ysgol Bro Edern, yn rownd yr 16 olaf. ⭐️ Seren y Dydd: Brychan Hopkins ⭐️

Dydd Mawrth - 09/04 - Merched Bl. 7/8

Wedi i’r merched ennill 1 gêm grŵp allan o 3, ymlaen â nhw i gystadlu am y plât. Enillwyd gêm yr 16 olaf yn erbyn Ysgol Bae Baglan 15-0, yna enillwyd 21-0 yn erbyn Ysgol Bro Edern yn y chwarteri. Yn y gêm gyn-derfynol, gwynebwyd ein ffrindiau o Benweddig. Enillwyd y gêm hon 12-7, a agorodd y drws i ni gystadlu yn erbyn Ysgol Ioan Fedyddiwr yn rownd derfynol y plât. Ar ôl brwydro’n galed drwy’r prynhawn ac wrth i’r merched flino, collwyd y gêm derfynol hon 17-0. Coronwyd y merched yn ail yng nghystadleuaeth y plât. Dydd Iau - 11/04 - Merched Bl. 9/10

Dechreuad arbennig i ornest Merched Bl. 9/10 - ennill 3/3 o’r gemau grŵp yn erbyn Ysgol Bae Baglan, Ysgol Stanwell ac Ysgol Bassaleg (Tîm A). Wynebodd y merched dîm cryf Cwm Rhymni yn rownd 16 olaf y cwpan gan golli 12-7 mewn gêm agos. Diwrnod gwych - ymddygiad ac ymroddiad i’w glodfori! ⭐️ Sêr y Dydd: Ellie Pike a Grace Williams ⭐️

URDD WRU 7 A SIDE RUGBY TOURNAMENT

Monday - 08/04 - Yr. 7 Boys

After winning 2 out of 4 group games, the boys went on to compete for the plate. Unfortunately, we lost against the plate winners, Ysgol Bro Edern, in the last 16 round. ⭐️ Seren y Dydd: Brychan Hopkins ⭐️

Tuesday - 09/04 - Yr. 7/8 Girls

Having won 1 game out of 3 in the group stages, the girls were placed in the plate competition. We won the last 16 round against Ysgol Bae Baglan 15-0 and then went on to beat Ysgol Bro Edern 21-0 in the quarter finals. In the semi-final, we met local rivals Ysgol Penweddig. In a fast-paced match, the Aberaeron girls managed to seal the match 12-7. This entered the girls into the plate final where they unfortunately lost to St. John’s Baptist 17-0. At the end of a fantastic day, the girls were crowned runners-up in the plate competition. Congratulations! ⭐️ Seren y Dydd: Mari Raw-Rees ⭐️

Thursday - 11/04 - Yr. 9/10 Girls

The girls were off to a great start having won 3/3 group games against Ysgol Bae Baglan, Ysgol Stanwell and Ysgol Bassaleg (Team A). Having qualified for the cup competition, unfortunately, the Cwm Rhymni girls scored two tries early on in the last 16 round game. After a late try by Grace to desperately try and gain a place in the quarter finals, the game ended at 12-7 to Cwm Rhymni. What a fantastic day nevertheless - the girls’ behaviour and determination in warm conditions was to be admired. Gwych! ⭐️ Sêr y Dydd: Ellie Pike & Grace Williams ⭐️

Pupils in 7d recently created castles out of recycled items as a history project. The pupils have learnt about changes to castles over time and were able to choose the type of castle they created. Mr Owain Jones judged the castles, awarding 1st place to Bethan Griffiths for her concentric castle, 2nd to Mason Palk for his motte and bailey castle and 3rd place to Alistair Burrill for his motte and bailey castle. A lot of effort was put into the castles and Mr Jones had a hard time choosing the winners!

Llongyfarchiadau i Willow Cole-Berner o Flwyddyn 7 sydd wedi ennill cystadleuaeth dylunio clawr ar gyfer tref Aberaeron. Enillodd hi £25 a bydd ei dyluniad hi’n rhan o’r archif yn y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol, Aberystwyth. Dyma Caryl Morris yn cyflwyno’r wobr i Willow ar ran Pwyllgor Neuadd Goffa Aberaeron.

Congratulations to Willow Cole-Berner from Year 7 who has won a cover designing competition for Aberaeron town. She has won £25 and her design will be part of the archive in the National Library, Aberystwyth. Pictured is Caryl Morris presenting the prize to Willow on behalf of the Aberaeron Memorial Hall Committee.
