OUR VISION

Our vision is to develop learners who understand the relevance of the media and its role in their daily lives. We also aim to develop our learners’ independence when researching and creating practical work and forming their own views.

THE CURRICULUM – A BRIEF OVERVIEW

Media Studies is offered as an AS/ A Level subject at Ysgol Gyfun Aberaeron. Learners study media products from a range of media forms – advertisements, music videos, film, newspapers, radio, online media, magazines, television and video games, including products from different historical periods and global settings and those aimed at a non-mainstream audience.

HOME LEARNING

At home, we highly recommend that students keep up to date with current affairs and also take an interest in photography. As well as this, you as parents and guardians can support your child with the many opportunities to enter competitions e.g. Iris Prize LGBTQ+.
